About

A public place for writing, process notes, and image-led studies.

I am an avid dilettante, drawn to the golden light of the past, rarely concerned with the future, and often struggling to stay relevant in the present. Like the second of the two mice, I keep kicking when I find myself in a milk can.

What belongs here

Writing that can sit still, and images that can carry context.

The writing side can hold essays, technical notes, process logs, or short observations. The gallery side can hold photo essays, sequences, and visual fragments with captions.

Why not a CMS first

This version stays static on purpose. It keeps cost, complexity, and security risk low while making the structure of the web stack easier for me to understand.

Current focus

What I am actively practicing through this project.

Learning the web

Using a real project to understand HTML, CSS, Astro, content collections, builds, and deployment.

Publishing in public

Creating room for work that can be revised, linked, and read calmly outside a social platform.

Image-led thinking

Treating galleries as sequences with captions and context, not just as containers for files.

Working principles

Calm structure first. Flash later, if needed.

Minimal

Fewer page elements, stronger spacing, sharper typography. The goal is confidence, not emptiness.

Readable

Content pages should stay calm enough for long reading sessions. Motion should support that, not compete with it.

Portable

The site is being kept static and vendor-light so it can move hosts later without a rebuild.
